SEP 3, 2019 – Quebec City, CA

Quebec City is a day’s drive from Ottawa, through Montreal. We didn’t stop in Montreal given we were more interested in moving along and neither of us had been to Quebec City. We wanted to spend 3 nights in Quebec City and were lucky to have good weather on Sept 3 for our Uber trip into the city for a good day of walking.  We had thought, as advertised by the Campground, that we could take a city bus from the CG into the city. We were told that it’s about a 90 minute ride and Uber or a taxi would be better for us. So we did that!

I had pinned a number of stops along the route to take advantage of the rich history of Quebec City. It has an enormous Citadel and a terrific old town within the walls of the original City’s fortifications. It’s so European!!!! And the pervasiveness of the French influence is really fun. Also it was fun to see the city’s waterfront that played a role in the defense of the City in the past.

We walked all day and started to walk out one of the main boulevard’s to find a good grocery store before calling Uber for the trip back to the campground. We’re on a very pretty lake and take a lay day before driving off to the east on Sept 5.  Sept 4 turned out to be very wet and rainy so it became laundry day!
