AUG 3, 2019 – Shadehill, SD 

Onto a SD recreation site – Shadehill which is alongside a dam created reservoir. There are some trees but we didn’t get one so we used the AC at night. Seems to work well and is effective in cooling things down from the upper 80s to low 70s for sleeping. We don’t run it during the day, but start it in the early evening to cool everything down for the night.

AUG 4, 2019 – Shadehill, SD 

It’s a 3-night stop here which is nice since we’ve been less than 3 nights since leaving Yellowstone. On Day 2 we walked to the area with a couple of small beaches for swimming access. We took a little dunk just to cool off. At an overlook we learned that there was a town buried when the dam was completed. So weird to think there’s a small community of houses somewhere down there under a hundred feet of water or so.

    Sorry that we will miss the Charlevoix stop. We will be with Phi and Mary this week and will be on the way home when they go up to meet you.
